CAF announces free electronic visas for fans attending AFCON Morocco 2025

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco have announced free electronic visas for fans travelling to the tournament.

CAF disclosed the development in a statement on its official website on Friday, noting that citizens of countries that typically require visas to enter Morocco will be eligible for the waiver.

According to the football body, “Electronic visas to enter Morocco obtained through the YALLA app are now free of charge for supporters attending the competition, which runs from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.”

The announcement comes amid surging global interest in Africa’s premier football event, with more supporters securing their seats through CAF’s ticketing platform.

CAF emphasized that Fan ID registration would be compulsory for entry into all stadiums and official fan zones. It explained that both the Fan ID and e-visa applications can be completed within the YALLA app, offering a streamlined and secure process for international and local attendees.

“To apply, fans must download the YALLA app on Google Play or the App Store or visit the YALLA website complete the Fan ID form and, where applicable, the e-visa request. Once approved, supporters can proceed to purchase match tickets on the CAF ticketing platform,” the statement added.

The measure, CAF said, aims to enhance convenience and security for spectators across the nine stadiums in six host cities preparing for the month-long tournament.

“CAF, with support from the LOC, reaffirms its commitment to delivering a world-class spectator experience throughout Africa’s greatest football celebration,” the body stated.

CAF also revealed that 298,000 tickets have already been sold during the first two phases, with buyers from 33 African countries and 106 nations worldwide. Morocco, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands recorded the highest demand.

AFCON Morocco 2025 will run from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026. The Super Eagles of Nigeria are placed in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania, and will kick off their campaign against Tanzania on December 23.
