The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, reaffirmed the Nigeria Customs Service’s (NCS) commitment to enhancing education through increased investment in its schools across the country. His remarks came during the launch of “Business Geek: Innovative Incubator From Concept to Reality,” authored by Asma’u Isah Maibasirah, the wife of a senior NCS officer, at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja on Thursday, 26 September 2024.

As the Chairman of the event, CGC Adeniyi stressed that delivering quality education is a priority for the NCS, recognising its vital role in national development. He outlined plans to build and renovate primary and secondary schools in various states, ensuring that every child has access to quality education, regardless of their background.

In his address, Adeniyi highlighted the book’s insights into entrepreneurship and innovation, emphasising its relevance to Nigeria’s pressing unemployment issues. “This book deserves our serious attention,” he stated, calling it a timely intervention amid high youth unemployment rates. He urged attendees to embrace the book, which aims to nurture creativity and business skills among Nigerians.

Professor Muhammad Aliyu Paiko, Vice-Chancellor of Abdulkadir Kure University, commended the book in his review, describing it as a robust resource for intellectuals and students, while Dr. Maibasirah expressed gratitude to Mrs. Kikelomo Adewale Adeniyi for representing the First Lady and supporting the book’s success.

The event attracted participants from various sectors, fostering discussions on enhancing entrepreneurial skills and innovative solutions for national development. Dr. Maibasirah concluded that “Business Geek” contributes significantly to promoting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as a pathway to economic growth.
