Complainant alleges govt conspiracy to conceal adultery scandal involving Jigawa commissioner

Nasiru Buba, the aggrieved husband at the center of an alleged affair involving Auwalu Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, has raised serious concerns about interference from the governments of Kano and Jigawa.

Buba claims that this interference threatens to undermine justice in the case.

Buba’s allegations follow accusations that Sankara was caught engaging in an illicit act with a married woman at an uncompleted building.

A few days ago, the Kano State Hisbah Board announced that they were unable to ascertain Sankara’s whereabouts, a statement that came just two days after he was released on bail from their custody.

Addressing a press conference in Kano, Buba expressed concern that the actions of Hisbah and the subsequent redirection of the case to the AIG Zone One office for investigation by the Shari’a court was a clear attempt to “kill the case.”

The complainer wondered why the case was redirected for investigation after the state command and Hisbah had successfully completed their investigation, insisting he would not accept any infringement to deny him justice.

He similarly accused the legal counsel to his wife of lying against him, claiming that he had divorced his wife a long time ago and that he had been maltreating her, including firing gunshots in the course of their disagreements.

“Let me say categorically that this case has been with the police in Kano for the last two weeks, and they have effectively investigated it. Hisbah is also aware of the case; therefore, all I need is for the governors of Jigawa and Kano to help me ensure that justice is done in this matter.

“This lawyer has seriously lied against me because, in the first place, Tasleem is still my wife, and she lives in my house. In the second place, I don’t have a gun, let alone firing it during our disagreements,” Buba added.

The complainer therefore urged counsel to immediately withdraw the allegations against him and put the record straight; otherwise, he would be left with no option but to seek redress to reclaim his image.
