Council boss commends hitch-free, peaceful Christmas celebration in Jos

The Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Hon Usman Bala Shehu has disclosed that the 2021 Christmas Day celebration is one of the most peaceful in the history of Plateau state since the return of democracy in 1999.

Shehu said his administration is committed to the complete restoration of peace in the state capital.

Hon Bala Usman Shehu stated this in a phone interview with Neptune Prime correspondent, where he discussed the current security situation in Jos North LGA during the festivities.

He explained further that the state capital witness one of the most peaceful celebration in the history of Plateau state with no single attack or any report of physical injuries.

“We enjoy this Christmas celebration, as there has been no single report of attack or someone reporting that he was molested as a result of the celebration. We enjoined Christian faithful to emulate the good teaching of Jesus Christ in their conduct”, he said.

The Council boss thanked Plateau people for the overwhelming support given to him during the poll and the way and manner every citizen is cooperating the APC government to ensure peace is restored to the state.

He commended Governor Simon Lalong’s contributions in promoting peaceful coexistence amongst people, he stressed that everyone should live in harmony with one another.

He stated that the present administration will definitely leave a legacy as one of the administration that promote togetherness.

Hon. Bala challenged Christians to always follow the paths of righteousness by imbibing the culture of love and tolerance amongst themselves.

He further emphasized that the Lalong administration had created a conducive atmosphere for private business owners to strive, so Nigerians should be their brother’s keepers.

Hon Shehu Bala tasked the peace loving citizens of the state to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness and focus more on what would unite them.
