Counter Terrorism Boost: US delivers military equipment to Nigeria
The United States has delivered a fresh batch of military supplies to Nigeria as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s counter-terrorism operations and security capabilities.

The delivery, which includes critical equipment for intelligence, surveillance, and tactical operations, is aimed at supporting Nigeria’s fight against terrorism, insurgency, and other security threats, particularly in the North-East and other troubled regions.
US officials said the support underscores Washington’s commitment to assisting Nigeria in addressing security challenges and promoting regional stability. The supplies were handed over through existing defence cooperation frameworks between both countries.

Nigeria’s security authorities welcomed the development, describing it as a significant boost to ongoing military operations against terrorist groups, including Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
The Nigerian government has repeatedly emphasized the importance of international partnerships in tackling terrorism, noting that collaboration with allies such as the United States has helped improve operational capacity, intelligence sharing, and troop effectiveness.
The latest delivery comes amid renewed efforts by Nigeria’s armed forces to intensify counter-terrorism operations and restore peace to communities affected by years of insurgency.
