Court in Abuja remands tenant for assaulting his landlord
In a troubling turn of events, a resident identified as Chris Okoye from 2A Niger Avenue Villa Nova, Apo area of Abuja, has been remanded by the Kabusa Grade I Area Court for his alleged involvement in assaulting his landlord, Mr. Ochengele Isaac.
The incident, reported by Isaac himself at the Apo Police Station on January 3, has led to Okoye facing charges encompassing criminal conspiracy, intimidation, force, assault, and causing harm.
The courtroom drama unfolded as the 44-year-old defendant, Chris Okoye, entered a plea of not guilty to the array of charges leveled against him. The charges stem from an altercation involving Okoye, his two children, and another individual named Gideon, who is presently evading authorities.
According to the landlord’s account, Okoye and his associates reportedly launched an attack that resulted in injuries. The gravity of the accusations has prompted the court to remand Okoye in custody pending further legal proceedings.
