One person has been confirmed dead following an attack by armed men at Tor Musa village in Wukari local government area of Taraba state. The Chairman Caretaker Committee of the local government Council, Adi Daniel confirmed the incident today to our correspondent.
He said the suspected members of a militia group ambushed the travelers who were on a motorbike, killed the passenger who is a woman and injured the rider.
According to the Chairman, the victims were said to be traveling from Donga to Wukari when the ugly situation occurred.
He explained that the rider sustained several degrees of injury and is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
The incident is coming one week after a similar incident took place at Tsokundi which led to the death of a secondary school principal. When contacted, the police spokesman in the state, DSP David Misal said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
