Criminals kidnap Monarch’s wife in Kano

Hajiya Aishatu Aliyu, wife of the Village Head of Tsara in Rogo local government area of Kano State have been kidnapped.

The news of her abduction was confirmed by reports from Karaye Emirate Council, Kano state on Tuesday.

According to a statement issued by Haruna Gunduwawa, Information Officer, Karaye Emirate Council, said the woman was kidnapped from her matrimonial home last Friday around 1:00 AM.

The signed statement explained that unknown persons in a large number entered the house of the village head of Tsara Aliyu Muhammad at 1.00 am of Friday morning and took away his wife, Aishatu Aliyu.

The statement further explained that the kidnappers shot severally into the air before taking away their victim, as he added that the ensuing melee forced residents to vacate the comfort of their homes to the nearby bush.

The statement further stated that “the District Head notified the Emir in a report that, people in Rogo district are presently living in fear as kidnapping cases are on the rise explaining that, within two months four cases were recorded.”

“The Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II renewed his plea to the security operatives to improve measures to end the menace.” It said.

The Emir similarly enjoined his subjects to devote more time to prayers as a panacea to tackle the social problems.

As at press time, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer to Kano Police Command could not be reached for comments as efforts at connecting him on his known GSM lines was futile.
