Daniel Bwala: Tinubu betrayed, humiliated us – APC Chieftain

Jesutega Onokpasa, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has sharply criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the appointment of Daniel Bwala, a former campaign aide to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Bwala, who was recently named Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, was on Monday night re-designated as Special Adviser on Policy Communication. Onokpasa expressed his anger in a video shared online, recalling how Bwala had insulted Tinubu and APC leaders during the 2023 campaign.

Onokpasa lashed out at Tinubu, accusing him of betraying the very people who supported his victory in the presidential election. He said, “My dear president, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, I am so angry with you. How could you appoint someone like Daniel Bwala, who called you a drug dealer, a drug baron? You’ve stabbed all of us in the back, disregarded us, and humiliated us by giving an appointment to someone who insulted us during the campaign.”

He continued, “What happened to you, Your Excellency? You attack Yahaya Bello, you attack El-Rufai, and now you’re abandoning Femi Fani-Kayode. We supported you, and now those who fought us are the ones getting rewarded with appointments. I don’t need anything from you. My Lord Jesus provides for me every day, that’s my story.”

Onokpasa expressed his dismay, saying, “It’s a shame that you would stab us in the back like this and bring in such a questionable character—a serpent who can’t even be trusted. On what basis was this appointment made? We are the ones who fought for your victory. God used us to put you in power.”
