Defection: Tinubu welcomes Anyim at presidential villa

Pius Anyim, a former Senate President who recently switched from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC), was met by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governors Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, who chair the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), escorted Senator Anyim to President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.

On why he defected to the ruling party, Anyim said: “Given the challenges the country is facing, there’s a need to put our hands on deck. The country is passing through turbulent times and it is the duty of all patriots if you have nothing to add to ensure that you continue to the peaceful atmosphere.”

Anyim, according to Uzodimma, is a large fish that the ruling party has captured.

Nwifuru added that Anyim is not hungry and is not a little fry.
