Dogara dismisses 2027 running mate speculation, says Tinubu will decide

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has asked to be excluded from speculations linking him to possible running mate permutations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dogara said decisions about the choice of a running mate rest solely with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that the president would determine what is best for the country and the ruling party.

He urged the public and political actors to disregard reports suggesting his involvement in discussions over the 2027 vice-presidential slot, describing such claims as premature and speculative.

According to Dogara, the focus should remain on governance and national development rather than early political calculations ahead of the next election cycle.
