Eid-al-Fitr: Fika Emirate Council distributes N3 million to vulnerable people

The Emir of Fika Dr Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammadu Idrissa, Chairman Yobe State Council of Chiefs yesterday in Potiskum presented N3 million cash assistance of to the Vulnerable people for Eid-al-Fitr celebration.

The was reported to be presented on behalf of an illustrious son of the Emirate who did not want his name mentioned.

The monarch told Reporters on Thursday at his palace in Potiskum town during the presentation that beneficiaries included 300 less privileged, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), orphans and widows in the Emirate.

Each beneficiary was given the sum of N10,000 as part of Emirate’s commitments to improve the welfare of the people.

The Emir urged the beneficiaries to utilize Ramadan fast period and Eid-El-Fitr to pray for peace, stability and development of the state and prevention against the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

He also appealed to corporate organisations and well-meaning individuals in the state to assist the less privileged in the state to complement government’s efforts at cushioning the hardship of masses.

One of the beneficiaries, Maryam Iliya thanked the donor and the Emirate for the gesture.

“I wish on behalf of all the beneficiaries to thank the donor, the Emir and the Emirate for this intervention. This will go a long way to help us celebrate the Sallah happily. May Allah reward them.”
