Protesting youths who converged at the Lekki tollgate on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in commemoration of the one year anniversary of #EndSARS movement were seen scampering for safety after operatives of the Nigerian Police fired several shots of tear gas.
In a video obtained on Twitter by Neptune Prime reporter, some of the protesting youths ran for cover to prevent being exposed to further danger as a result of the chaotic atmosphere.

To this, some persons have been detained and taken into the Black Maria, however reasons for their arrests is still unknown.
Earlier on, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu who was physically at the protest ground, the Lekki tollgate responding to questions from journalists said those involved in the protest are free to carryout their activities but warned there should not be gatherings whatsoever anywhere in the state.
