ESN/IPOB men burn down LG secretariat, Magistrate Court in Anambra

The Idemili North Local Government secretariat and a Magistrate Court in Ogidi were both set on fire by men suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN)/ the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

According to sources, they entered the secretariat on Sunday night to continue the act, destroying all files and property in the secretariat, including the secretariat building.

The entire buildings were reduced to rubbles, and vehicles parked inside the Local Government secretariat were also burned to ashes, according to videos and photos circulating online.

“Yes, the incident was confirmed, and our men were there to restore normalcy,” said DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, a spokesperson for the State Police Command.

“Right now, the fire has been extinguished, and the area is calm,” Ikenga told newsmen.
