Father of accused JAMB candidate dismisses plans to sue, places trust in divine judgment

Mr. Romanus Ejikeme, the father of Mmesoma, who was accused of forging her 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result, has stated that the family has no plans to sue the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Ejikeme, while speaking to journalists who visited his house in Nnewi on Tuesday, explained that the family has entrusted the matter to divine judgment.

He firmly maintained that his daughter did not forge her results, emphasizing that she was a diligent and committed student who took her studies seriously.

“My daughter is incredibly dedicated to her studies. Even when asked to go to bed late at night, she insists on studying more because she aspires to pursue a career in Medicine and Surgery,” Mr. Ejikeme said.

“After enduring all the stress, it is disheartening to hear that her result has been labeled as forged. I have complete faith in my daughter’s innocence, and we are prepared to go to great lengths to prove it,” he continued.

Expressing his disappointment, Mr. Ejikeme expressed concern for the emotional well-being of his wife and daughter, who have both been deeply affected by the allegations.

He revealed that his daughter is currently traumatized by the entire situation and called for a thorough investigation into the matter.

It is worth noting that Mmesoma Ejikeme, who initially boasted of scoring 362, the highest possible score in the JAMB examination, has been declared by JAMB as having presented a fake result.

The board alleged that she had forged her result, withdrawn her original score, and consequently imposed a three-year ban on her from taking any further exams.
