The Fire outbreak at the 41 Police Mobile Force (PMF) Barracks, located in a residential area, along Mohammed Idrissa Way, Potiskum, Yobe State early yesterday, caused a lot of damage to the resident’s whole block of the building.
Our correspondent’s visit to the scene shows that the inferno affected families residing in the entire building.
According to an eye witness account, the fire started at around 10:30 a.m in the room of a certain Mobile Policeman before the fire department was informed, to which they responded immediately.
The cause of the inferno is still under investigation, the town’s fire department added.
Authorities said no one died or got injured in the incident.

A police officer who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity stated; “the fire inferno is as a result of carelessness”
