The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of five police officers who tragically died in an accident while returning from an official assignment in Edo State.

Ganduje, during a condolence visit to Bichi, Kano State, on Saturday, offered his sympathies to the families of the fallen officers, emphasizing that their deaths were a loss not only to their families and the police force but also to the entire nation. “We are here not for celebrations but to offer our heartfelt condolences to the families, the Inspector General of Police, and the people of Kano,” he stated.

He stressed the importance of supporting grieving families and ensuring they feel cared for during difficult times. “It is a tradition of our party and my government to stand by families in times of grief, ensuring they know they are not alone,” Ganduje remarked.

The accident claimed the lives of five officers instantly, while 10 others were injured. Recognizing their sacrifice, Ganduje personally donated N2 million to the families of each of the deceased officers, while the injured officers received N1 million each.

Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, who accompanied Ganduje, also expressed his grief, stating that the tragedy felt like a personal loss, as Bichi is part of his Federal Constituency.
