Gov. Fintiri flags off construction of 2 additional flyovers in Yola

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has once again led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a 7-span overhead bridge along the Yola – A. A. Lawan Junction and a half cloverleaf interchange at the Yola-Numan Road.

These two new projects are particularly significant as they play a crucial role in finalising the superhighway that was initiated last year.

Upon completion, these two flyovers will bring the total number of flyovers in Yola to five, all of which have been constructed by the Fintiri administration.

During his speech at the ceremony held at A. A. Lawan Junction, Governor Fintiri expressed his belief that these projects will not only enhance the beauty of the city of Yola but also provide essential convenience for commuters along the road.

“The most impressive justification for the project, is the fact that it passes through Malkohi – a community that houses the 1000 Housing Estate which is the largest Housing estate ever embarked upon by any administration in the history of Adamawa State.”

He said the government must therefore brace up to mitigate the future challenges by putting in place necessary infrastructure that would positively respond to such geometric cosmopolitan growth and mutual socio-economic cross-pollination.

The member representing Yola North in the State House of Assembly, Alh Suleiman Umar Alkali noted that the projects are a testimony of the governor’s ability to overcome trafic challenges in the state capital

The Commissioner of Works and Energy Development, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar said the flag off of the two projects symbolize the commitment of Governor Fintiri to the advancement of Adamawa State to prosperity.

On his part, the Project Manager Yola office of Triacta Nigeria Limited, Eng. Ghassan Ghanem assured that the firm will ensure completion and execution of quality projects within the timeframe of 12 months.

The District Head of Karewa, Barrister Musa Abdu acknowledges that the construction of the flyovers in Yola was no doubt futuristic in nature, and people will ever remain grateful to the Governor for this act of magnanimity.
