Gov. Fintiri urges NYSC corps members to seek self-employment

Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa has encourage NYSC corps members to avail themselves of the opportunities for self-employment offered through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme.

Fintiri stated this while declaring the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 orientation course for corp members deployed to the state open at Damare orientation camp, Girei LGA on Friday.

He urged them to be serious and actively participate in all the camp programmes and activities, particularly morning meditations, lectures, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.

“I will like to remind you that white-collar jobs are not readily available. “Therefore, I encourage you to avail yourselves of the opportunities for self-employment offered through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme”, he said.

posted to the state are automatically bona fide indigenes of Adamawa

“This is a privileged status conferred on you by me as the Number one citizen and Executive Governor of the State”, he said.

Fintiri said corps members have nothing to fear as far as security is concerned in the State.

“My dear children, be informed that we have a special security arrangement for the protection of lives and properties of corps members wherever they are serving in Adamawa State.

“ Therefore, may I as the Chief Security Officer of the state assure you that you will only be posted to where we are sure of your safety”, he said.

Fintiri also appreciated the scheme for recognizing him as the most NYSC friendly Governor and Adamawa as the most NYSC friendly state.

Mr Jingi Denis, NYSC Adamawa Coordinator commended Fintiri for his support for NYSC and overall development of the state.

He appealed to Fintiri to expedite work on the approved concrete fencing of the orientation camp.

Denis also charged corps members to respect their uniforms and warned them against improper dressing.

The corps members were administered Oath of Allegiance by state Chief Judge, Justice Hapsat Abdulrahman, represented by Justice Ishaku Halliru.
