Armed gunmen strike in Isin Local Government, abducting father, son

Gunmen abducted a father and his son in Kwara State, causing distress in the Isanlu-Isin area of Isin Local Government.

The incident occurred around 7 pm on Thursday when the suspected gunmen attacked the vehicle in which the victims were traveling, damaging it before whisking them away.

A concerned member of the local government raised the alarm, stating, “With deepest sympathy and a heavy heart, I would like to inform you about a syndicate of kidnappers that struck in Isanlu-Isin. They not only damaged the victims’ vehicle but also abducted Femi Ajayi, a student at First Baptist Grammar School Isanlu-Isin, and his father. This incident has left us deeply troubled, and we earnestly request your prayers for their safety. May God Almighty provide strength to the Igbomina community leaders and traditional rulers as they stand united against such acts.”

Kwara Police spokesperson, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident and stated that Police Commissioner Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi had dispatched teams of policemen, supported by local hunters and vigilantes, to the town to conduct a thorough search and rescue operation for the abductees.
