Governor Fintiri appoints 7 traditional rulers for newly created Chiefdoms, Emirates
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved the appointment of seven traditional rulers for the state’s newly established Chiefdoms and Emirates. The appointments were announced on Friday through a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonisikou.
According to the statement, the appointments are effective immediately, with the Governor stressing that the selection process prioritised merit and community acceptance. He congratulated the new rulers and urged them to lead with fairness, honesty, and a deep sense of responsibility.

The appointed traditional rulers and their domains are as follows:
1. HRH Sani Ahmadu Ribadu – Emir of Fufore
2. HRH Alheri Nyako – Tol Huba
3. HRH Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga – Mbemge Ka Michigan
4. HRH Ali Danburam – Phil Madagali
5. HRH Aggrey Ali – Kumu of Gombi
6. HRH Ahmadu Saibaru – Emir of Maiha
7. HRH John Dio – Gubo Yungur
Governor Fintiri expressed confidence in the appointees’ ability to foster unity, peace, and development within their communities. He emphasized that their roles are vital in maintaining the cultural integrity and administrative harmony of their respective regions.
“The government recognizes the importance of traditional institutions in promoting stability and cultural heritage,” Fintiri stated. “We believe that these appointees, chosen for their leadership qualities and dedication to their people, will serve with distinction.”
The creation of new Chiefdoms and Emirates is part of the Adamawa State government’s efforts to enhance grassroots administration, cultural preservation, and equitable representation in traditional governance.
Community leaders and residents have welcomed the appointments, expressing optimism that the new rulers will bring progress and cohesion to their domains.
