Governors preach love, peace, unity during Christmas festivities

As Christians in Nigeria join the world in celebrating Christmas, state governors have called for love, peace, and unity amidst the challenges facing the nation.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, encouraged residents to embrace tolerance, unity, and understanding, urging all to reflect on the values of love, compassion, and generosity. He said:
“Let’s work towards building a Lagos where harmony and progress flourish.”

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, reminded citizens to pray for Nigeria and spread love. He extended condolences to families affected by recent tragedies and urged vigilance during the festivities.
“Christmas presents another opportunity to spread love and make supplications for our state and country,” he stated.

Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, described Christmas as a time for reflection on God’s boundless love. He called on citizens to embrace compassion and unity during this season.

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, called on privileged individuals to extend a helping hand to the less fortunate. He acknowledged the economic hardships but expressed optimism that sharing would ensure everyone had something to celebrate.
“If you have, always give to those who do not have. Even with little, we can spread joy,” he added.

Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, urged Nigerians to embrace hope and selfless love, acknowledging the challenges of the season. He sent condolences to families affected by the Okija stampede and encouraged resilience.

Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, highlighted unity and love as vital for overcoming difficulties. He reassured residents of the state’s plans for economic recovery and development.
“Together, we can achieve continued progress for Cross River and Nigeria,” he said.

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, urged Christians to pray for national peace and economic stability.

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, reflected on Christmas as a season of divine goodwill, calling for the promotion of love and generosity.
“Christmas is a testament to God’s benevolence, a time for worship and goodwill toward all,” he noted.

Despite the economic challenges, Nigerian governors have rallied citizens to embrace the true spirit of Christmas by spreading love, compassion, and hope. Their messages underline the importance of unity and collective progress during this festive season.
