Govt house security officer confesses to supplying arms to bandits

A security officer attached to a Government House, Insp. John Moses, has confessed to selling arms and ammunition to bandits, security sources have confirmed.

Insp. Moses reportedly made the admission during interrogation by security agencies, revealing that he diverted weapons and ammunition entrusted to him for official duties and supplied them to criminal groups operating in parts of the country.

According to investigators, the officer was arrested following actionable intelligence linking him to illegal arms trafficking. Preliminary findings indicate that some of the weapons sold were allegedly used in bandit attacks and other violent crimes.

Security authorities described the confession as a grave breach of trust and said investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the operation and identify any accomplices within or outside government institutions.

Insp. Moses is expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations, as authorities vowed to clamp down on insider collaboration fueling insecurity.
