Group hails minister Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, affirms support for renewed hope agenda
The Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has been praised for spearheading initiatives seen as key to advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Social Integrity Network (SINET), a non-governmental organisation focused on equity, social justice and national development, passed a vote of confidence on the minister after its meeting on Tuesday in Abuja.

SINET’s National Coordinator, Dalhatu Issah, said Sulaiman-Ibrahim has demonstrated “hard work, commitment, and leadership” since assuming office, adding that her record confirms her “experience as a gender advocate and patriotic Nigerian.”
Among her achievements, SINET cited hosting a consultative session with former women affairs ministers, leading Nigeria’s delegation to the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), and convening a maiden Women’s Town Hall and Citizens’ Engagement. The group also pointed to economic empowerment programmes that reached over 30,000 women across 18 states and the FCT.

Other efforts include establishing a Rice Processing Centre in Niger State, training widows of fallen security officers in partnership with the DSS, and collaborating with Wema Bank to support over 500 women in small-scale trades. She was also recognised for backing the Super Falcons at the African Women Cup of Nations.
SINET thanked President Tinubu for appointing “a minister with a human face and genuine concern for the nation,” urging stakeholders to support her work and consolidate on her reforms.
