Police kill IPOB fighter, recover weapons, others
Security operatives in Anambra State have neutralized a gunman along the Igbo-Ukwu/Ezinifite Uga route in the Aguata Local Government Area.
Security personnel on patrol responded to reports of armed men in a black Prado Jeep along the Igbo-Ukwu/Ezinifite-Uga road, leading to an exchange of gunfire. According to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the operatives engaged the suspects, resulting in the death of one gunman, while the others managed to escape.
Ikenga reported that the security forces recovered two AK-47 rifles, one pump-action gun, two loaded magazines, fifteen live cartridges, the black Prado Jeep with two different license plates, two police body armor vests, three caps, a black handbag, and various types of criminal charms.
He added that clearance operations are still in progress, and further updates will be provided as necessary.
