How a motorcycle rider was lured and murdered by a friend over a promised loan in Ibadan

Ibadan, Oyo State. A tragic case of betrayal unfolded in Ibadan as a motorcycle rider was reportedly murdered by a close friend over a disputed loan. The victim, whose identity has been withheld pending family notification, was allegedly lured under the pretext of receiving financial assistance.

According to police sources, the suspect invited the victim to a secluded location on the outskirts of Ibadan, promising to settle a loan. Eyewitnesses say the meeting took a sinister turn when a dispute escalated, resulting in the rider being attacked and fatally injured.

The suspect reportedly attempted to flee the scene but was later apprehended by local law enforcement. Authorities confirmed that the suspect is now in custody and facing charges of murder and conspiracy.

Residents in the area expressed shock over the incident, describing it as a ā€œterrible betrayalā€ that underscores the need for caution even among friends.

The police have urged anyone with information about the case to come forward, while investigations continue to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal confrontation.
