When Kaduna based actress, Umma Shehu, who was born and brought up in Tudun Wada area joined Kannywood, she was well accepted, and before you know it she made good money and became very popular, but this also entered her head and she started misbehaving.

When Kano based Hisbah invited her to go and explain her accusation that even officers of the command used to chase women, and as such should stop playing to the gallery by arresting innocent ladies on the streets that are pursuing their chosen career, this generated tension in the industry.

Later Umma used her money and produced a successful Hausa film named “Sa-in-sa” and she produced a few other films and disappeared.

Recently she surfaced on social media advertising products for women “if you use this drug I’m holding, even if you were a prostitute before, or several men slept with you, you will again turn to a brand virgin”.

This and other activities of Umma has made people take her as so desperate and can do anything to make money.

She has issued a statement on social media confessing that she is a sinner, but she did not do ‘Shirka’ — an offence that God does not forgive but in her own case, she said God will forgive her. Umma married before and has one grown-up daughter.
