Ibadan Explosion: Tinubu condoles with Oyo gov’t, urges prosecution of culprits
President Bola Tinubu has strongly called for accountability and thorough investigation to unravel the cause of Ibadan explosion, pointing fingers at illegal miners as the culprits.
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde had earlier identified illegal miners storing explosive devices in a Bodija building as the cause of the tragic incident.
Expressing deep concern over the root cause of the explosion, Tinubu stated, “It is worrisome that the blast is being attributed to the activities of illegal miners. Those behind this inexcusable and reckless behaviour must be identified, apprehended, and punished.”

The president extended condolences to Oyo State Government and people of the state.
Tinubu urged swift investigation by relevant government agencies into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Furthermore, he directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to collaborate with the Oyo State Government in providing immediate and comprehensive relief to the victims.
