Iconic Nollywood actor Don Brymo dies at 57

One of the well-known faces in the Nigerian movie industry, Mr. Brymo Uchegbu, better known as Don Brymo, has passed away.

Brymo, renowned for his portrayal of Igwe (a king) in movies, peacefully passed away in his sleep on Wednesday night at the age of 57.

Mayor Ofoegbu, a popular movie director in Nollywood, confirmed Brymo’s demise.

Sharing the news through his WhatsApp status, Ofoegbu began with a poignant quote: “Plan for tomorrow but live for today. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.” He accompanied it with a heartfelt condolence message.

“I posted those lines on my WhatsApp status yesterday evening. My dear friend, my partner in crime, Don Brymo Uchegbu, passed away in his sleep. I received the shocking news this morning and had to verify it with his family. Oh, Don Brymo, my brother. It’s so hard to say goodbye. A great loss to the Nigerian film industry,” he wrote.

Don Brymo, a native of Anambra State, was born in 1966. He embarked on his acting career professionally in 2000 and appeared in numerous acclaimed movies throughout the years.
