The Independent National Electoral Commission says the timetable and schedule of activities for the recall of the House member representing Bebeji constituency in Kano state will be released on Monday next week.
The commission had on Friday last week, received a petition for the recall of the member representing Bebeji Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly.
“We have since written the petitioners’ representatives acknowledging receipt of the petition,” the Chairman, Mahmud Yakubu said on Wednesday.
Yakubu said this while swearing in new Resident electoral commissioners in Abuja.
“In line with our guidelines, the timetable and schedule of activities for the recall will be released on Monday next week.”
He said the commission would carry on with the standrd recorded in the last general eletion by delivering a credible and technically advanced electoral process.
“I want to assure all Nigerians that we shall continue to discharge our responsibilities conscientiously according to the law.
“In terms of strategic planning, we are prepared for 2019. We are already taking practical steps towards actualising d Strategic Plan.
“Very soon, the Election Management System that will enable us track activities almost on daily basis will be ready.’
He urged the new commissioners to be non partisan in the discharge of their duties.
