JAMB vows to expel student behind app used to forge UTME results
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced its decision to terminate the admission of a Nigerian student who developed an app used to forge the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the spokesperson for JAMB, confirmed this development.
The case revolves around a 19-year-old girl named Mmesoma Ejikeme, who had claimed to have scored 362 in her UTME.

However, JAMB disputed her claim, asserting that her actual score was 249, and publicly released her original result to substantiate their stance.
Interestingly, investigations conducted by the public have unveiled the existence of an app on the Play Store capable of forging UTME results.
Dr. Fabian, in an interview with Punch Newspaper, revealed that the app’s developer is a student enrolled in a Nigerian higher institution.
In his statement, he emphasized, “We have identified the individual responsible for developing this app, and he is a student at one of our institutions. At present, we are taking steps to apprehend the person, and they will consequently lose their admission status at the institution.”
Furthermore, the JAMB spokesperson declared that they are collaborating with security agencies to ensure that the creators of such fraudulent apps face legal consequences.
