Journalists, spokespersons tasked on balanced reportage

Journalists and media spokespersons have been urged to discourage conflict in society by upholding the professional ethic of balanced reportage and optimal information management.

They have also been urged to as stakeholders in societal governance and peace building to promote equity and inclusiveness.

The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa State chapter, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan, gave the advice at a three-day seminar organised for journalists and media spokespersons in Adamawa on Conflict Sensitivity Training by ‘State to State’ in collaboration with the United State Agency for International Development (USAID) ongoing at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) Hotel, Yola.

Comrade Dedan applauded the State to State for organising the workshop counselled the participants to translate into viable action the knowledge and skills acquired.

In his address, the Adamawa state team lead, State to State, represented by Citizens Engagement Specialist State to State, Mr Emmanuel Bwala, appreciated the participants for turning up at the workshop.

Me Bwala who enumerated the number of agencies that the State to State is in

partnership with welcomed the attendees and charged them to be attentive.

Earlier in a remark, Press Secretary to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Mr Humwashi Wunosiko, expressed optimism that the workshop will go a long way in broadening the scope of the participants for guaranteed information management.

Mr Wunosiko who spoke on behalf of the Commissioner of Information, Doctor Umar Garba Pella, wished the participants a fruitful and successful seminar.
