Katsina Hisbah imposes ban on nightclubs

The Katsina State Hisbah Board has issued a ban on all nightclub activities across the state, citing the need to uphold Islamic principles and moral values.

In a statement released on Wednesday in Katsina, Hisbah Commander-General, Dr. Aminu Usman, announced that nightclub owners must close their establishments in order to curb immoral practices, safeguard societal values, and address security concerns within the state.

“The board has made it clear that anyone found violating this directive will face strict penalties. Security agencies have been tasked with ensuring full compliance,” Usman said.

He emphasized that the board is committed to fostering a morally upright society and maintaining peace and security in Katsina State.

Usman also confirmed that relevant security agencies, including the state Commissioner for Internal Security, have been notified to enforce the order effectively.

“This decision is part of the Hisbah’s wider efforts to ensure that residents live in accordance with religious and moral standards,” he added.
