Kenyan TV anchor acquitted of murder, lands senior govt job
Jacque Maribe, a TV anchor acquitted of murder charges in the case of Monica Kimani’s death, has been appointed to a top position within the Kenyan government, sparking controversy nationwide.
Maribe, who was cleared of the murder accusation while her ex-partner Joseph Irungu, alias “Jowie,” was found guilty, has been named as the head of communications for Kenya’s Ministry of Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management.
Despite the judge’s suggestion that Maribe should face prosecution for providing false information to the police, Public Service Minister Moses Kuria defended the appointment, stating that it aligns with the principles of justice and equal opportunity.

Critics, however, have raised concerns about the fairness of the appointment, questioning whether it was made based on merit or political connections.
