Kwara Governor mourns Chief of Staff, Prince AbdulKadir Mahe
Prince AbdulKadir Mahe, Chief of Staff to Kwara State Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, December 28, 2024.
The Kwara State Government announced the sad news in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye.
The statement read:
“In total submission to the will of Allaah, we regret to announce the passing of the Chief of Staff to His Excellency, Prince AbdulKadir Mahe. He died this morning, December 28, 2024, as has been destined by Allah.
“The late CoS will be buried today at his residence on Moro Street, Adewole Estate, Ilorin, after the Asr prayer. His Excellency deeply mourns the death of Prince AbdulKadir Mahe, a perfect gentleman, community leader, urbane public servant, and statesman.”

Governor AbdulRazaq expressed heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the family of the late Chief of Staff, cabinet members, and other government officials.
He prayed for Allah to accept Mahe’s soul, grant him ease in his final account, and admit him into al-Jannah Firdaus.
Late Mahe, the eldest son of the 10th Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Aliyu Abdulkadir, was appointed Chief of Staff about 17 months ago. His tenure followed the passing of the previous Chief of Staff, Alhaji Adisa Logun, who died in office three years ago.
Governor AbdulRazaq described Mahe as a “quintessential public servant” whose contributions will be deeply missed.
The burial rites for the late Prince AbdulKadir Mahe were held at his Moro Street residence in Adewole Estate, Ilorin, after the Asr prayer.
May Allah grant him eternal rest.
