Local hunters capture 3 kidnappers in Adavi LGA of Kogi

Story from Rabi’atu, Lokoja

Luck ran out of three suspected kidnappers as local hunters in Adavi Local Government Area (LGA) of Kogi State captured them in their hideouts at Jo Osara, Aku, Irepeni, Irapana, along Okene-Lokoja highway.

The suspected kidnappers met their waterloo during an operation led by the Council Chairman, Joseph Omuya.

The arrest was made in a bid to support the state government’s efforts in curbing insecurity and safeguarding the lives and property of the people of Adavi LG as well as travellers.

According to reports, the operation lasted hours before they could apprehend some of the kidnappers while some escaped with bullet wounds during the gun battle.

The suspects include Abubakar Sadiq, Abdullahi Muhammed and Muhammadu Kabiru.

One of them has confessed on their mode of operation, the nature of sophisticated weapons they use, and the names of other gang members.

The council boss has handed them over to the appropriate authority for further investigation.

Hon. Omuya while commending the local hunters for their relentless efforts and determination in discharging their duties, urged every resident particularly those residing in the farm areas to be security-conscious and provide useful information to the appropriate quarters in case they suspect any suspicious moves or see strange faces which they may not be familiar with.
