Man stabs 65-year-old aunt to death

A tragic incident unfolded in Gombe State when 31-year-old Jonathan James allegedly stabbed his 65-year-old aunt, Ramatu Musa, to death. The attack occurred in the early hours of October 21, 2024, in the Bagadaza Quarters, according to the Gombe State Police Command.

Police spokesperson ASP Buhari Abdullahi explained that a patrol team from the Pantami Division received a distress call at 2:15 a.m. and promptly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they found Ramatu Musa with severe injuries. Despite being rushed to the Specialist Hospital in Gombe, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The suspect, Jonathan James, was arrested at the scene, and the knife used in the crime was recovered as evidence. The police reported that the victim sustained multiple stab wounds to her chest, which ultimately led to her death.

ASP Abdullahi assured the public that the police are taking the case very seriously and that Jonathan James will soon face charges in court. He noted that the motive behind the fatal stabbing remains unclear but emphasized the commitment to ensuring justice is served. “We condemn this heinous act and will ensure that the perpetrator faces the full weight of the law,” he stated.
