Mera Attack: Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris donates ₦50 million to support victims’ families

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has extended a helping hand to the families of those affected by the recent bandit attack in Mera Community, Augie Local Government Area. In a statement released by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, the incident was described as both tragic and unfortunate.

The Governor’s donation of ₦50 million will be directed to supporting the 15 families impacted by the attack, which has left the community reeling from its devastating effects. Governor Idris expressed his condolences and reiterated the government’s commitment to providing assistance and ensuring better security measures to prevent similar occurrences.

“Nothing can truly compensate for the loss and trauma these families have endured. However, we stand together in their grief and will provide the necessary support to ease their burden,” Governor Idris said.

The attack in Mera Community has raised renewed calls for strengthened security in the region. The donation and ongoing government efforts signify a step towards addressing the crisis and assisting those affected.
