Misconduct Allegations: 151 senior police officers face disciplinary panel
The Nigeria Police Force has initiated disciplinary proceedings against 151 senior officers accused of various misconducts and ethical breaches.
The proceedings, which began on July 14 and will conclude on July 25, 2025, at the IGP Smart Conference Hall in Abuja, aim to reinforce accountability and discipline within the force.
The officers, drawn from commands and units nationwide, are facing the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) over alleged violations, including professional misconduct and breaches of internal regulations.
The FDC, responsible for investigating senior officers from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) upwards, will review accusations, assess evidence, and recommend sanctions in line with police laws and disciplinary frameworks. The final decisions will be forwarded to the Police Service Commission.

Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun emphasised the force’s zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline, stating, “The Nigeria Police Force will not condone any form of misconduct or ethical breaches.
This disciplinary process underlines our commitment to maintaining a culture of integrity and respect for the rule of law.”
The disciplinary review is part of the force’s ongoing reforms to restore public trust, enhance service delivery, and ensure police officers uphold the highest standards of conduct.
