Napoli to lower Osimhen’s transfer value in favour of Man United

Former Serie A champions Napoli are willing to lower Victor Osimhen’s €75m valuation to enable Manchester United seal a deal for the Nigerian striker and also prevent him from joining Italian rivals Juventus in the summer.

Currently on loan at Galatasaray, Osimhen is destined to part ways with Napoli at the end of the current season with top European clubs jostling for his signature.

The 26-year-old striker was expected to leave last summer, but his purported move to Saudi Arabia failed while he also rejected a Chelsea transfer over personal terms.

According to Turkish sources, Taktik Mania and Arda Ozkurt, United are pushing to win the race for Osimhen and have sent an ‘official offer’ to Galatasaray.

The reports did not reveal exactly how much the proposal is worth, though United are accelerating their efforts to bring him to Old Trafford.

Arsenal have also submitted a bid for Osimhen, while Ozkurt adds that Liverpool, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are all ‘keeping a close eye’ on the situation, too.

Galatasaray are also reported to be ready to make sacrifices to keep the 26-year-old, but they will struggle to convince him of such a move.

According to a report by the peoples person, the Partenopeans do not want Osimhen to join any of their rivals.

TEAMtalk revealed on Friday that Ruben Amorim and United have made Osimhen their ‘top’ striker target, despite interest in other stars such as Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Delap.

Despite reports that the player has rejected a potential move to Juve, the Italian giants are still pushing harder than ever to sign the goal machine, but United are primed to rival them with Napoli’s help.

Napoli have a good relationship with Manchester United, as Scott McTominay switched between both clubs in the summer.

Juve will need to negotiate a different transfer fee for the player as his exit clause only applies to clubs outside of Italy.

Amidst all the speculations, the striker has been mum on his future.

In a separate update, Turkish journalist Ozkurt added that Osimhen is currently focused on helping Galatasaray win the Super Lig and Turkish Cup and has not communicated any decision on his future.
