Meanwhile, a source close to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), revealed to The Guardian, yesterday that top on the contract handed to Chelle is to ensure the Super Eagles team B get to the final of the fast-approaching CHAN Championships to be co-hosted by Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, and also qualify Nigeria for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to the co-hosted by USA, Canada and Mexico.
“The major issue is the Super Eagles’ qualification for the FIFA World Cup. The NFF has also clarified to Chelle that he must take the CHAN Eagles to at least the final. To me, these are tough challenges for the new coach, but in football, nothing is impossible,” the source said.
No official of the NFF was ready to speak on the issue yesterday.
