According to DSP Wasiu Abiodun, spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, the alert victim raised an alarm, causing the suspects to attempt to escape in a Toyota Corolla (Reg No: YAB 267 CW).

In their confession during interrogation, the suspects revealed that they originated from Lokoja and had met David in Zuba, Abuja, who had allegedly obtained the vehicle from an Uber driver in the capital.

The suspects claimed to be graduates of educational technology from Benue State University and admitted to engaging in illicit activities for the past five months.

They disclosed withdrawing approximately N170,000 from victims’ accounts in Nasarawa State and around N90,000 in Lokoja, Kogi State, prior to their unsuccessful attempt in Suleja.
