Niger State under siege as bandits kill, loot, attack villagers

In a series of violent attacks, armed bandits killed a farmer in Rafi Local Government Area and injured another in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.

The first incident took place on Wednesday around 1 p.m. in Dogon-Fili village, Rafi LGA, when a large group of bandits opened fire on residents. A farmer, identified as Ranau Usman, was shot and killed, and the bandits stole his unregistered Bajaj motorcycle.

Later that same day, at approximately 4:30 a.m., three armed men invaded Gadowa village in Marami District, Borgu LGA, moving from house to house and robbing residents of their possessions.

During the attack, one resident, Yakubu Bulus, was confronted by the assailants, who demanded money he had recently made from selling a cow. The money was intended as a ransom for his brother, who was being held captive.
