The tragic incident occurred on Boxing Day in Nenu, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.

According to a Facebook post by the doctor’s friend, Prince Agbara, the suspect fled the village with his family immediately after the doctor passed away.

“This is disheartening. Somebody that was alive and healthy on the 25th, poisoned on the 26th through drink, and he vomited, and that was it, by his kinsman,” Agbara wrote. “On noticing that my friend had died, he ran away with his family.”
