Nigerian lady trying to break World Record for longest massage collapses after 50 hours

Story from Musa Sakinat Abubakar

Joyce Ifeoma, a Nigerian woman attempting to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest massage marathon, collapsed after over 50 hours of continuous massage.

The incident was captured on video by TikTok influencer Esiaga, who was present at the event in Lekki.

The footage showed Ifeoma suddenly collapsing to the floor, prompting one of her assistants to rush to her aid. Another woman offered her water to help revive her.

Ifeoma’s condition was described as stable by Esiaga, though it remains unclear whether or not she will attempt to continue with her record-breaking attempt which was scheduled to end on July 4.

Prior to her collapse, Ifeoma had already been given massages for more than 36 hours straight. Esiaga shared a video of her receiving water and mentioning that she was feeling sleepy.

Despite the incident, guests at the massage marathon location were seen having fun, with some dressed as Captain America and Thor from the Marvel movies.

Ifeoma had been hoping to beat the current record of 25 hours and 4 minutes, set by Alastair Galpin in South Kalimantan, Indonesia in November 2015.
