Nigerian navy takes delivery of 86 impounded drones from Customs

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has handed over 86 impounded drones to the Nigerian Navy.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Controller Suleiman Bomoi, said the drones were imported without the mandatory End User Certificate from the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) and had to be served.

He said the gesture is in line with the renewed synergy among the security agencies.

According to him, the End User Certificate is required for the importation and use of drones in the country.

Receiving the drones on behalf of the Chief of Naval Staff, the Chief of Training and Operations Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral Solomon O. Agada, appreciated the Customs for the gesture.

He said: “I can assure you that these drones will be used appropriately in service to the Nigerian Navy and the nation at large.

I also on behalf of the Chief of Naval Staff, extend the appreciation of the Nigerian Navy to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, because this is done as part of the collaboration within the various security agencies in the country and that will continue to be in place as we work together to ensure security for our fatherland,” he said.
