NPF identifies dismissed officers who hijacked truck carrying 40,000 litres of PMS

The Nigeria Police Force on Sunday, July 7, 2024, disclosed that it had arrested three dismissed officers who allegedly hijacked a truck carrying 40,000 litres of petrol and abducted the driver as well as the motor boy in the vehicle.

The Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police, Muyiwa Adejobi, who announced the development in s statement on his Facebook wall on Sunday, said the dismissed officers comprised two Inspectors and a Sergeant.

He gave their names as Inspectors Otache Egbe, Abah Solomon and Sergeant James Mamah, who were dismissed from the Force.

It was gathered that they were allegedly involved in the hijacking of a DAF truck carrying 40,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, along the Ohodo-Opi Road in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State.

They were said to have been apprehended after a meticulous operation which also led to the rescue of the abducted driver and the motor boy.
The Force PRO wrote: “The investigation led to the recovery of significant exhibits, including two AK-47 rifles, 105 rounds of ammunition, and various security uniforms.

“The apprehended suspects have confessed to their crimes and are under investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of Enugu Police Command and efforts are ongoing to recover the stolen PMS.”

The three men are also expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation into their nefarious activities.
