Organisers suspend Jos protests for dialogue
The Jos #EndBadGovernance protest group has announced a temporary suspension of its demonstrations for a two-day period, effective from August 4 to August 6.
Enoch Vilret, the spokesperson for the group, shared this decision during a press briefing held in Jos on Sunday.
The suspension aims to facilitate dialogue with relevant stakeholders, a move encouraged by President Bola Tinubu in his recent national address.

Vilret emphasised that the group remains steadfast in its mission and is optimistic that this brief hiatus will cultivate constructive discussions.
However, he also made it clear that if the proposed talks do not occur within the specified timeframe, the coalition is prepared to resume its peaceful protests.
The spokesperson condemned any acts of violence or destruction, urging security forces to ensure accountability for those who engage in such behavior.
He reiterated the group’s commitment to peaceful advocacy and encouraged Nigerians to remain law-abiding as they hold onto the hope of a better Nigeria.
