Police arrest man for attempted suicide at MFM church premises
The Ogun State Police Command arrested 29-year-old Victor Kalu for attempting to take his own life on the premises of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) in Ibafo.
The incident happened late Friday around 10:45 p.m. when Kalu was seen trying to hang himself from an electric pole inside the church compound.
His attempt was stopped by the church’s Chief Security Officer, who handed him to the police the next morning at about 10:10 a.m.

Police investigations revealed that Kalu, who lives at Plot 7, Oluwa Sesan Street, Ejigbo Road, Ikotun, Lagos, was driven to attempt suicide due to severe financial hardship.
He had taken a loan from an online lending platform and, facing persistent threats and no way to repay the debt, decided to end his life.
Detectives from the Ibafo Division visited the church, interviewed Kalu and the complainant, and documented the scene with photographs. Victor Kalu remains in police custody as further investigations continue.
