Police nab 25-year-old woman over attempt to sell 3-year-old daughter for N700k
A 25-year-old woman, identified as Yetunde Gbadebo, has been arrested by the Ogun Sate Police while negotiating to sell off her 3-year-old daughter at the price of N700,000.
The woman was arrested in the early hours of 25th July 2024 at Aladiye Street in Sagamu while attempting to sell the child to one Sunday None, a 38-year-old man.
A resident who witnessed the illegal act alerted the police and the suspects were apprehended.
The spokesperson for the police command, Omolola Odutola, told journalists that Gbadebo denied the allegation, while None had confessed to the crime.

She said, “The woman was about to sell her three-year-old daughter to another suspect. A resident who saw the two suspects negotiating the price approached our station in Sagamu to report what she witnessed.
“The Sagamu Police Division detached a team of detectives who stormed the scene and arrested the two suspects. The man has confessed to the crime.
“The case will be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department as soon as preliminary findings are concluded,” Police PRO said.
